But we had different thoughts on the matter. As can be imagined, this created a contentious issue. Based on the knowledge gained from neighbors in the Harbor, my sister and I went against my family’s wishes and hired Michael and his Lifestyles team to sell my parents’ home. It did cause difficulties within the family initially, but I knew the team at Lifestyles had done a great job on other high priced waterfront homes here in Huntington Harbor. They were experienced handling trust sales and working with Banks who represent the beneficiaries. Their Guaranteed Sale program gave us extra confidence they would do the best job, and they certainly did. We did not have a lot of money to spend, so the Lifestyles team made recommendations for low-cost improvements which they monitored for us. The Sellers Advantage System streamlined the selling process, eliminated the negotiating and haggling, so that buyers were competing rather than lowballing. The result is that we got more than we expected in a rather short period of time. This was a very emotional experience for our family. We grew up here along with all of our neighbors’ kids, living in a wonderful boating community, in and out of the water all the time. We had a going away party as a fitting goodbye to our parents and the home which housed so many childhood memories. All through the process the Lifestyle’s team was there to hold our hands and guide us through what was a very emotional process and major life transition for everyone. Thanks again.
